Step by Step: Discussion Checkpoints

Checkpoints can be set to have different due dates and point values for the initial response and the subsequent replies.

Step 1: Navigate to the Courses menu.

Step 2: Choose your course.

Step 3: Navigate to Discussions.

Step 4: Choose + Add Discussion.

Step 5: Add the discussion title and the discussion topic content details as needed.

Step 6: Enable the graded discussion option and then enable graded checkpoints option.

Step 7: Enter the points for initial posting and replies, then set the appropriate due dates for each.

Step 8: Save your changes.
