Access to Canvas Studio
To get to Canvas Studio, log in to your Canvas account and go to the "Studio" button on the left-hand side.
How to Record a Video
To record a video in Canvas Studio, click on the "Create" button. If you are using Chrome or Edge web browsers, choose: "Studio Capture" otherwise you will need to choose "Screencast-o-Matic" for recording. Choose "Add Media" to add a reference to a Youtube video or to add an external video file.

One of the following must be enabled for Screen Capture utilitiy to work. A micophone, A webcamera or a screen recorder. For example you can create just an audio file by just enabling the microphone.
- Choose a Webcamera to use.
- Choose a Microphone to use.
- Screen Capture. Choose "Enable" to choose options. (Chrome or Edge only)
- The options are Browser Tab, Window, Entire Screen (allows picture in picture)
- Start the recording.

note: If you choose to share your browser you may see a new in-window notification indicating that it is being shared:

Stopping your Recording
To stop your recording, use the "Finish Recording" button which appears after you start the recording.
Sharing your Recording
To share a video in Canvas Studio, either click on the video in the Studio dashboard (1) and click on "Share Media" (2)
Students: You can submit it as an option during assignment submission.
Teachers: You can embed the video during assignment or page creation.
